Tweet heard 'round the world

It all started with just one tweet via @ReallyVirtual. During the early morning hours of Monday, May 1, Sohaib Athar posted a tweet that would come to be heard by millions. Unbeknown to him at the time, Athar was the first to announce to the world about the top-secret raid to kill Osama bin Laden. Athar, a resident of Abbottabad, noticed a helicopter hovering the city around 1 a.m. and found it unusual enough to tweet about. Perhaps it comes as no surprise that, amongst an age dominated by social networking, first word received about the U.S. operation which killed wanted terrorist and al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, was observed and broadcasted by an IT consultant awake late at night via Twitter.
