The Great Britain Riots of 2011
Brit Blogger Penny Red:
I’m huddled in the front room with some shell-shocked friends, watching my city burn. The BBC is interchanging footage of blazing cars and running street battles in Hackney, of police horses lining up in Lewisham, of roiling infernos that were once shops and houses in Croydon and in Peckham. Last night, Enfield, Walthamstow, Brixton and Wood Green were looted; there have been hundreds of arrests and dozens of serious injuries, and it will be a miracle if nobody dies tonight. This is the third consecutive night of rioting in London...Britain is a tinderbox, and on Friday, somebody lit a match. How the hell did this happen? And what are we going to do now?
"How the hell did this happen"? Well, Miss Red, I think I can answer your question with a few of my own:
What happens when you allow mass immigration into your society and refuse to assimilate the newcomers? What is the result when you blame yourself and your once-great nation for all the world's ills? What becomes of a people's moral spirit and ethical grounding after you marginalize their religion (well, Christianity and Judaism, anyway) and mock its teachings?
What becomes of a nation when you refuse to allow the citizenry to defend themselves, and worry more about the rights of the criminal than their victims? What becomes of a society when you infantilize it, forcing them to accept the government as a lifelong parent who knows best, who takes half of your earnings, then will order you to a small cell if you don't obey their rules to the smallest minutia? And what happens when those who struggle on the fringes are told to give up, there's nothing they can do to help themselves, that it isn't their fault anyway (it's ours), and are given the money (appropriated from the productive) to sit in squalor?
You get this.
The fault, dear Brits, is not in your stars, but in yourselves, and the liberalism you parroted and supported to make yourselves feel better about yourselves, and perhaps in order to feel superior to us dim-witted Americans.
Reaping what you have sown. And nothing short of hand-to-hand combat with the rioters will put a stop to this. It will end in blood - if not with the mob's, then with yours. If European liberalism has not totally emasculated your people, you will fight in the streets to survive. But if you feel you must wait for "the authorities" to step in, or if you need to debate the "root causes" of the destruction, and whether or not violent reaction is necessary...well, you're already dead.
Incidentally, I'll be surprised if we don't see this in America - on a somewhat smaller scale - in 2012. At least in this country, though, our right to defend ourselves still means something. And it's a right we can back up with a real big f*cking gun, as opposed to waiting until the crime is complete and the bobbies show up...
