...every single time.
John Kerry, the man who was almost president, spoke about controlling speech and silencing political parties so that his messaging is not disrupted. On MSNBC this morning, 'ol Frenchy le Horse-face dropped the pretense and went full-bore fascist, telling the "Morning Joe" crew that the media has the responsibility to not give equal time to, or even examine, the Tea Party's views. Via RCP:
And I have to tell you, I say this to you politely. The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it's exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual."
"It doesn't deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do. And the problem is everything is put into this tit-for-tat equal battle and America is losing any sense of what's real, of who's accountable, of who is not accountable, of who's real, who isn't, who's serious, who isn't?"
Get it? Unlimited deficit spending is "serious". Concern about balancing the budget is "isn't real". Turning off the lights across America is "accountable"; questioning the myths of "climate change" is not.
And still Kerry shakes his head in disbelief that the nation chose George W. Bush over him to lead the nation....how could they?
Succinct analysis over at NRO's Media Blog:
John Kerry should just shut up. The government shouldn’t tell the media anything. And two, I really don’t care if MSNBC, for example, decides to exclude the Tea Party. Cable news ratings, even for Fox, are incredibly low. Americans are much smarter than any politician or pundit gives them credit for. It really doesn’t matter what the media covers, in my opinion, over the next 18 months. Citizens see the reality and that’s how they’ll vote in 2012.
Yup. Same holds true for the money, by the way. Obama can extort and spend a billion dollars or more, and it still won't change the bleak landscape we find ourselves in...
